Is Storm legit?

Storm is a real, operating sweepstakes casino, but SweepsGuard has not finished grading it yet. We are still gathering player complaints and redemption evidence, so treat it cautiously and keep balances small until a grade is published.

Overview

Storm still has not opened, but the paperwork we criticized in August has been finished. The site at storm.us remains a pre-registration page - players can reserve a place and earn entries into a launch-day giveaway, but there are no games, no coin store and no way to redeem anything. What has changed is that the binding documents are no longer a draft. The Sweepstakes Rules and the Terms and Conditions were both republished on August 29, 2026, the sponsor is now named, and the placeholders and drafting notes that filled the earlier version are gone. Industry trackers point at a September opening. The model is a conventional dual-currency sweepstakes: Gold Coins for play with no monetary value, Sweeps Coins given free and redeemable for prizes, with the two never converting into each other. Entry is 21 and over, stricter than the 18-plus most of the category uses, and the exclusion list runs to 11 states. Canadians are not eligible. Because nothing is live, none of it has been tested.

Player Reception

There is no player feedback to report, which is expected for a site that has not launched. Storm has no Trustpilot profile at all, and a search across the sweepstakes and gambling subreddits returned nothing for the brand on a query batch where a control search returned results, so the absence is real rather than a failed search. Independent reviewers have published previews and describe the terms as transparent. No complaints have reached our form. The site's own pre-registration counter currently reads zero players.

Current Highlights

  • The currency separation is stated unusually plainly for the category - Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins "never convert into each other", and Sweeps Coins are described as never for sale rather than as a bonus attached to a purchase.
  • A 21-and-over age limit, stricter than the category norm, and the National Problem Gambling Helpline is carried on every page rather than buried in a policy.
  • The operator held its rules back until counsel had finished them rather than publishing a working draft as a binding agreement, and it has told players not to mail a free-entry request until the address is confirmed. Both cost it sign-ups, and neither is what a site trying to rush players in would do.
  • The advertised terms are reasonable on paper: a 50 Sweeps Coin minimum for a cash redemption and 20 for a gift card, a 1x playthrough, and a mail-in entry route awarding 3 Sweeps Coins per request. None of this has been tested against an actual payout.

Areas to Watch

  • The named sponsor is a numbered Costa Rican company with no trading name. The rules identify it as "3-102-969184 LIMITADA, a limited liability company organized and existing under the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica", registered at San Rafael de Escazu, San Jose. That number is a cedula juridica, the Costa Rican equivalent of filing a company and never naming it. Disclosing it is a real improvement on the blank we found in August, but a numbered shell in Costa Rica gives a player very little: no trading history to look up, no sibling brands to judge it by, and a jurisdiction that offers limited practical recourse.
  • The free mail-in route still has no address. The requirements are written out in full and each request card is worth 3 Sweeps Coins, but the rules say only that the "mailing address to be published on this page before the sweepstakes opens". Until it appears, the no-purchase entry method cannot actually be used.
  • The excluded-state list is shorter than the category standard. It names California, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee and Washington, and omits Delaware, Indiana, Maine and West Virginia, which most operators exclude. The provisional marking has been removed, so this now reads as a settled decision rather than an unfinished one.
  • Nothing about payouts can be assessed. No redemption has ever been processed and no methods, timings or verification requirements are published. Whether Storm pays is simply unknown, and the terms being tidy is not evidence either way.
  • Everything here is still a promise. The improvement since August is entirely on paper. A site can publish clean rules and then run them badly, and nobody has yet tested a single one of these clauses against a real balance.

Track Record

None yet. Storm has no operating history, no redemption record and no complaint history. The sponsor is now named but is a numbered company with no other brands attached to it, so there is no portfolio record to draw on either. Everything currently known about the site comes from its own pre-launch marketing and its newly finalized legal documents.

SweepsGuard Status

Storm stays under review because it has not opened and there is still nothing to test. The specific problem we raised in August has been fixed: the terms are no longer a visible draft, the placeholders are gone, and anyone registering can now see which company they are contracting with. That is worth crediting, because plenty of sites never bother. What it does not do is answer the question that decides the grade. The sponsor is a numbered Costa Rican company with no history, the mail-in address is still missing, and no player has been paid or refused. Pre-registering is a smaller risk than it was three weeks ago, but there is nothing here to fund yet. We will review this page properly once the site is live and players have been paid or not paid.
